This course develops your skills in reading, writing, oral communication, and media literacy. You will engage with a variety of texts — including fiction, non-fiction, and media works — to build comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Writing activities focus on developing your voice, strengthening grammar and conventions, and organizing ideas effectively for different purposes and audiences. You will also practise oral presentation and discussion skills, and learn to evaluate media messages. This course prepares you with the literacy foundations you need for success in Grade 8 and high school English.
